Challenge

This park doesn’t receive the attention that other higher profile parks in the system receive. They are a promotional resource challenged park with a trail map that will leave you lost. They were using a poor quality, black and white map to depict color coded trails. They needed to raise awareness of their facilities and provide a better user experience.

An overview video and a new map.

Result

We shot, edited and produced a 3 minute video that showcases their major assets. Croft State Park has 3 main user groups: horse riders, mountain bikers, and campers/hikers. All 3 were highlighted in the video and given incentives to visit. The close proximity of the park to the city of Spartanburg and the beauty of the area were shown.The video is now featured on the State Parks & Recreation website.

We worked with their rangers to create a piece that would work for all their users: campers, hikers, bikers and horseback riders. The map includes things to do, multi-use trails and highlights the most popular passages. A new map, that is also on your phone, that highlights the most used trails and features the campground area and park activities.
